Pets in Avalon Riverview North - discussion regarding fee

Posted by jam at June 26. 2008

I am so happy that they now allow pets in the avalon riverview north but I cannot understand the additional charges - in my opinion if a tenant is dirty their apt will be dirty - it has nothing to do with a dog - to be charged an extra fee for a dog is ridiculous to me - for example my apt is spotless we crate our dog and he is completely trained but we still pay a monthly fee whereas tenants on the fourth floor smoke cigarettes and stink up the hallway in my opinion they should have to pay a fee b/c no matter how many times you re-paint an smoker's apt it still stinks and the hallway stinks as well - I believe that is much worse than an animal especially if the owners are responsible and take care of the pet......am I wrong???

No you are not wrong, but not all owners are as responsible as you.  Over the fourth of July weekend when people were using the stairs more often, someone allowed their dog to use the restroom on the second to last level in staircase B.  They did not clean it up and it remained there for a few days.  The staff had to go and clean it up.  That is something that would not have existed if pets were not allowed.  Thus, because not all owner clean up after their pets as well as you do, everyone is charged a fee.
