Latest Later from the Management at Riverview North

I came home tonight to find yet another letter from the management at ARN. In this latest addition of building wide letters, we were informed that we're not allowed to have doormats. Seriously?! If that's not bad enough, the letter goes on to say that no items may be permanently affixed to the front door of any apartment. Am I to assume that they're going to make me remove my mezzuzah from my doorpost? If they think that's the case they'll have bigger things on their plates than worrying about miscellaneous items being left in the hallways/breezeways.

That is pretty standard (no doormats, things attached to doors). It is the same policy in Citylights. It seemed a little strict at first, but when you see people putting up tons and tons of religious/sports/political things on their doors, you will understand.

What about the letter from yesterday, they are reversing the dog policy.  I don't know how many other people feel about it, but i moved from the Riverview to get away from the dogs.  The smell outside and inside the buidling were horrendous.

Anyone know what we can do to fight this policy change????  If we were sold on a pet free building doesn't management owe us some sort of explaination.

I agree- I liked the no-pet policy because I'm allergic.  I'm not happy with the change.

I will probably write a letter expressing my unhappiness with the change and encouraging them to enforce the poop rules.

I thought the policy was commendable, and it's not the nicest thought to have even more dogs soiling the neighborhood.  (Especially in light of the interminable trash heaps that the Avalon is foisting upon the neighborhood.) Is the building not renting out well?
