ARN Trash

Open letter to the ARN building - do you really need to pile your trash for days on end out on the sidewalk on Center Blvd?  From now on you can put the trash out the night before pickup ONLY!  If the recycling and bulk items comes on different days - then you have to put that out the night before only also.  I imagine it is easier to just dump it all once a week, and then let it sit for days on end, but we have to walk by it and see it strewn all along the block.

I'm hoping there is some better arrangement to come when some construction detail is finished, I hope.  The other day the pile pretty much swallowed up someone's car that was parked on Center Blvd.

I agree!   The Avalon Riverview North building has made a terrible mess of Center Boulevard with its trash - especially on windy days.  Perhaps ARN can take some lessons from Citylights or Rockrose in the expert and efficient way they manage their trash.   Also, it would be nice if ARN would make available a few public garbage receptacles, like Citylights and Rockrose have done.

I wrote Avalon two months ago about the unbelievable amount of broken glass left behind from the trash. Got this response

"I was also informed that the sidewalks are swept daily around the building.
With the ongoing construction, we are not always able to keep it up to par
however, we will continue to work to improve that. Construction will be
leaving soon and this will make our job easier."

I lived in Lower Manhattan for the last few years. There couldn't be more construction and traffic, yet the sidewalks were kept spotless by the maintenance crew.
Please take a look at the forum rules and FAQ section.
