I ran into someone a few months back that was visiting NYC and instead of booking a hotel, they rented an apartment in Avalon Riverview (South) for the week (NOT through Avalon).  They said they found it on Rent.com - someone has a lease in the building and instead of living there, they rent it out.  I have some friends coming into town and we wanted to book the suite that Avalon rents out, however it is already booked.  Does anyone know who this person is that rents out their apartment to visitors?  Or if anyone knows anyone is the adjacent buildings that does this, I would be interested in getting their contact info.
