Going Green - Tips, Hints & Ideas
Up to The Lounge
I think everyone with a car should go and inflate their tires as this will equal all the offshore oil the bad guys are proposing to drill. Oops, correct me if I'm wrong, bit I think someone else had this idea!
What are you getting at, larryd, with this post and the same type, in the other thread? The sarcasm is okay, if you're trying to stress a point which others aren't getting, but I agree with offshore drilling, as I've stated. What are you trying to say? Are you slamming Obama? If so, that is neither the subject nor the spirit of this thread, as Jake ad I have previously pointed out. If we're all going to have a discussion, or even a debate, it has to be coherent, and not on this thread. Let's go back to the other thread, or better still, begin new one devoted soley to politics and the enviornment; but first you have to make your intentions known.
Charlie.
Sorry Charlie, that I continue to mess up this feel good thread. Perhaps I shouldn't of paraphrased Obama's quote: "There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure
your tires are properly inflated — simple things. But we could save all the oil
that they're talking about getting off drilling — if everybody was just
inflating their tires. And getting regular tuneups. You'd actually save just as
much!"
I just got a tuneup and inflated my tires, things I have done ALL of my 50 year driving life! I guess I don't like being lied to in this magnitude. I also wore a sweater and dialed down to save energy in the 1970's. Perhaps Jimmy Carter can be Obama's secretary of energy and wishful thinking will get us out of this mess!
Hey larryd, What concerned me was that you started this thread, you were talking about oil leakage into the world's oceans from natural sources vs that from human activity. I responded in kind, then you took off and ran way out into left field, with comments concerning Obama's filling your tires properly statement. Do you want a discussion, or do you just want to post unconnected random thoughts? If you just want to post the latter, then anyone responding, will just be wasting their time. I am not trying to be unthoughtful, but if we're going to have discussions concerning important matters, then let's do it in an organized, logical fashion. Don't get bent out of shape and go nuts, over one political statement. Politics is all about lying, and misleading everyone. This is why we need and end to this moronic two-party system.
Lastly, Jake wanted this thread to be about things concerning us going green. It's his website. He's the boss here. Let's honor his request & let's move this to one of the other related threads, and don't get bent out of shape over this either, it's not good for your cortisol levels.
Yea, I remember "save a watt", and the really long gas lines and high prices, which weighed heavily on the minds of the Pepsi generation, and how we should've all taught the world to sing. Seemed like everything back then, was a big ball of confusion.
Charlie.
