Hi charlie - I disagree.  She screwed up over and over again with her inability to answer direct questions except for those that were so carefully rehearsed and spoken by rote.  You need to read through a live blog that was doing a run ning commentary throughout the debate and see her irrational answers,  refusals to answer direct questions and often changing the subject to suit herself that went by so quickly as we viewed it on our TV screens at home.  Her "folksy" rhetoric didn't help either - beginning with "Can I call you Joe?"

Hi rivu412.  Really.  I'm not so sure as to whether it was all due to her inability, or just her refusal to answer, or answer directly.  It appears to be more of the latter, in this case; by her own admission.

All politicians screw up, avoid, misspeak, misdirect, mislead, manipulate, use carefully rehearsed responses, and use (over and over and over) seemingly mechanical or automatic statements.  So, I'm not going to single her out in that manner.  In addition, she's been thrust into this whole thing, mostly unprepared, and has a lot to learn about speaking on a national (and international) stage.  If the live blog was a partisan one, then as far as I'm concerned, it would've been a useless read.  Looking at it from one side only, is something I don't do.  Plus, sitting at the computer watching blog responses as ithey happen during a speech, debate, interview, or whatever, takes away from the whole; of everything that is part of the "performance".  That's the reason I don't watch (entertainment vs documentary) movies in other languages, sporting English subtitles.  By the way, who's blog was it?

Still, it was a much improved performance over her previous speaking engagements.  In those, it seemed like she was speaking to "Joe six cases" instead of "Joe six pack".

Now for the really important part: There should still be plenty of material for Tina Fey.

Hi charlie - Call me partisan if you will; however. I watched it live and followed up with news opinions before I read the blog - and I still say that her gibberish and half completed sentences are absolutely painful to my ears.   I would much rather be "sidin with Biden" than "failin with Palin".   My name is rivu412 and I approve this message.  Dontcha Know? - wink-wink:)

Hey rivu 412, that was a great response.  Excellent work.  It really made me laugh.  Two thumbs up on that one !  Hey, let's see if Tina Fey strikes comedy gold again tonight, on SNL.  Of course, that is if she is allotted the time, as she is no longer a member of the cast.

Well Charlie - Tina did it again.  She totally nailed my points - incomplete sentences left dangling in mid-air and - "I don't want to talk about that - I want to talk about......"  When she pulled out the flute I really cracked up!  All three did a great job.  Kudos to Queen Latifah - she has really matured into an A-1 performer, and she's looking very "Jenny Craig fit".
