For all of you who say you want to be involved in how the neighborhood develops here is your chance.Community Board 2 will be holding a public Hearing on the Hunter's Point South Project next Monday June 23, 2008. Below is the information I recieved from the Community Board President Joe Conley. I hope to see all of you there.

HUNTERS POINT SOUTH
Community Board 2 has scheduled a Public Hearing for the Proposed Development at Hunters Point South. The boundaries are 50TH Avenue running south to Newtown Creek and west from Borden Avenue to the East River.
The Proposed Hunters Point South Project Plan will be presented by representatives of NYC Economic Development Corporation, (EDC), New York City Department of City Planning, DCP and NYC Housing Preservation and Development, (HPD).

Ø VOTE on Hunters Point South Project
Anyone know how the vote turned out? I heard they also discussed proposed school at 5th Street and 46th Avenue.
The board approved the plan w/ conditions added. There were alot of conditions. I'm sure if you contact the community board you can get more information about the conditions. This is just the begining of the process. If you go to the NYC Economic Development Corp. site there is more information about the whole process. One good thing is that there will be community involvement with the development fo the project, especially the 11 acre waterfront park. There was a presentation about the new school however there ws no vote on it.
