   Yep.  Judging from the history of the past 20 years in Hunters Point; the only thing which will probably be seen, is change, change, and more change, with very little actually accomplished.  I'm figuring on a minimum of eight years, before the first building is ready to be inhabited.

I would agree. I assume the mayor means sewers, electric and water when he's talking about infrastructure. I also wonder what it's going to mean of the 7 train. It's only one train. Even with the current population here the trains are getting crowded. Hmmm...

The 7 train problem should be helped by the new Computer Controlled Signal System the MTA is introducing.  It's already in effect on the L line.  THe 7 is next in line.  This system allows trains to safely be driven closer together (shorter headways) allowing more trains to pass thru the tunnels in the same amount of time.  Two 11 car trains per hour could accomodate about 2200 more passengers in that time.  Just make sure to stand clear of the closing doors!
