I heard today that on the corner of 47th and Center Blvd someone driving a black pickup truck hit a parked motorcycle, breaking off its kick stand sending it crashing to the ground, then just gingerly drove away without leaving a note or anything.

If anyone has any information or saw this, please report it to the police and let us know.

Besides the obvious fact that this is a d'bag move, bikes are rarely insured for collision meaning this poor owner has to pay for all these repairs on their own now.

In the span of a week, my car was hit (person ran also) on the corner of 50th Avenue and 2nd street and then broken into (nothing taken).  I just ended up moving my car out of the 'hood.  It's really unnecessary in the winter (I'd drive it to LI in the summer) and the two incidents made it a no brainer.  I'm sorry it happens to anyone, bike or car... it just sucks.
