Has anyone noticed the water gushing out of the building on 50th (and 5th St)?  Sometimes water drips or leaks out of the pipe on the side, but for the last 12 hours (and maybe more) water has been gushing out onto the sidewalk and into the street.  Does anyone know who owns that building and what the source of the water is?

It's a high end art/museum storage place called The Fortress (http://www.thefortress.com/).  I notice water spewing out of it every so often, and it is always horribly rust colored and looks pretty unsafe.  If I was one of their customers I would not get a good feeling about seeing that water.

But this was not just a little bit of water.  They'd have to have a couple of olympic sized pools in there to create all the water that was pouring out.  I just wonder where it comes from and why they can waste all that water.  I called 311 so hopefully it is fixed now.

Nope, it's still going as of Saturday at 8:30pm.  Quite troubling, I wonder if it is full of nasty chemicals?
