Aside from their outrageous prices on almost all items, has anyone noticed they simply don't have much in there. It's as if they planned for a nice, stocked store, and it just didn't work out. There is large open space everywhere, where there should be more product. I lived near the Amish Market in Lower Manhattan and never walked out with the feeling I didn't get what I needed. They need to take a serious look at what makes a place like Whole Foods, Fairway, and even smaller markets like Jubilee and Westside Market so successful. Another price example... Meyer's Clean Day Spray is over $7 there. On Meyer's own website it's $4.99. Are they thinking we're all naive & wealthy.

Man, this store hasn't been open a week and there's a lot of complaining...I think there's a lot of things to shake out before all returns are in.  For me, this is one more option and options are good.

Here's the email for the store if you want to send suggestions, complaints, compliments: info@foodcellarco.com

I did find something.

A big tin can of extra virgin Olive oil for $14.99 is not bad.

Mixed spring salad by pound ($6.49/lb).

Hanger Steak ($9.99 /lb)

That's not too bad.

The thing that jumped out at me was the price of a rotisserie chicken...$10.99, that's insane. They are typically in the 4-5 dollar range.  I was also surprised by how weak certain sections of the market were.  The bread aisle...cmon, six bags of rolls does not a bread aisle make!   A gallon of skim milk was $3.99 over the weekend at Foodcellar...that's somewhat reasonable.  Their cheeses and desserts were also pretty good. I do almost all of my shopping at Costco, so this is more of a "nice to have" for the little things I can't buy in bulk. Like Skim Milk. :)

I'm sure that when DR opens up, they will be forced to bring down some of the costs of staple items to stay competitive.

Yeah you can buy 2 chickens at Costco for same money.   I also saw some sushi rolls that were more expensive than ones you can have getting served at Lucky Mojo's.   Sorry food nuts... but if I want to pay restaurant prices I'll go to the actual restaurant.
