Re: NOBU QUALITY SUSHI FINALLY IN LIC (Lucky Mojos is open)
Stopped in again tonight - the "rolls" were great as was the Tuna Tataki. Looking forward to my next visit!
Everyone keeps saying how great this place is. I am excited to try it out. I'm curious, though. Is it expensive?
Sort of expensive. In line with the French place or Masso. Way more than McReilly's or Cassino.
Went there again and my friend had the burger. Small burger, they didn't ask how we wanted it cooked and brought it out well done. Yuck.
Mac and cheese, don't bother with. It's mainly mac with something that might be considered cheese. It was yellow, but had no taste. ?
Cole slaw was great...a bit different than normal, but I liked it. Ribs were good, sort of dry, but I think that has to do with the method of how they cook them. BBQ sauce they gave us was bleh, but the ribs were good without it anyway.
Decent beer selection...might be a good spot for our bi-weekly Queenswest.com after work happy hour.

YUM!! Just had really, really great sushi at Lucky Mojo tonight! The bartender (Ani?) was very friendly and did give us our first round on the house. Monique the manager is very open to suggestions and the whole staff seems ready for a crowd. For a 'soft opening' I didn't experience any bumps in the road, and the waitstaff (we had Sergio) is very friendly and knowledgeable. They'll have live bands Thursday and Saturday nights and there's a sushi bar, fireplace and tv upstairs. The red painted walls are warm and covered with original art from New Orleans. I don't think it was expensive---they are keeping the drink prices low...$4 for a pint of beer, $6-$8 for a glass of wine. Plenty of sushi with 2 pints of beer cost $25---I think that's very fair for the quality.
All in all, it was a great dinner and I'll be going back for sure.
