Anyone else constantly sick from living in LIC?

Posted by ag at September 02. 2008

I moved to LIC in November of last year (Avalon North). I have been sick every single month (7-10 days of every month). I have never had allergies or chronic illness in my life... I'm thinking that all the construction has caused this, maybe? It starts with a runny nose, turns into a sinus infection and then a chest cold/whooping cough. No one has ever gotten sick from me, which is why I'm thinking that I've developed an allergy. Has this happened to anyone else here?

If you've been sick 7-10 days every month since moving here last November, I think it's about time you seek some medical attention.

I suppose it could be allergies - maybe something in the Avalon bldg isn't agreeing with your body.

I've been in this neighborhood for over 10 years and I haven't been sick 10 days in that entire time.

I have been to the doctor. Nasal spray, antibiotics, etc etc..

Just curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms since moving here.

Ag,  I seriously doubt it's Whooping Cough (Pertussis).  You probably mean a bad, persistent cough.  If you grew up in this country, you were immunized against it as a kid.  It comes as a package shot along with the vaccines for Diptheria & Tetanus.

What did the doctor say it is?

I've never had an allergy either, until 2 yrs ago.  Just like you, I was getting sick once a month or every other month with similar symptoms as you are experiencing.

Foolishly, I didn't realize it may be the new construction until I went to the doctor and was told that is exactly what was causing it.
