I appreciate what everyone is saying, about inventory, and coke and ice, etc.  I understand that the proprietor might be losing a few cents on this transaction.  However, my post is to remark upon the fact that this situation was handled poorly at the time.  Additionally, business wise, unless you have a regular stream of people making this type of request, I think it is good business sense to make an exception here and there for  the sake of customer loyalty.

I, for one, have decided that due to this incident, I am willing to walk an extra block to go to Sweat Leaf.  At Sweat Leaf, they allow me to put a small coffee into a large cup, and never questioned me on it.

I had two meals there and both were very good. The breakfast burrito was awesome.

Not sure what happened above, but worth a shot.

I have been to Cranky's four or five times now and I like it. The breakfast burrito is excellent and the young French lady is very friendly.  She has been very nice to my wife and kid when we go there and she even gave a free cup of coffee the last time I was there.

Furnace, it sounds like what ever happened was lost in translation and it does not seem like a good reason not give them another try.

Hate to beat this dead horse but why don't you bring your own container and consider yourself "green" instead of "cranky".  Fortunately we do have several nice choices now and hooray for that!
