I appreciate you always like to respond to posts, but some are lecture like. Why post if you are going to put down the post you are responding to?
You dont know the story why I have a car still. For your information I take the subway everywhere. I just moved here from Maryland, and have 4 lousy car payments until I own it. In 20 years since I have been driving it will be the first car I will ever own. I still keep it around in case I need to go visit family in New Jersey and other areas not serviced by the MTA or public transportation. I also like to explore and travel around. So, I pay monthly for the subway, plus car payment and insurance and gas for the car that sits for days and on end on the street. Of course there are days when we get less than 24 hours for a movie shoot and then you have to play parking musical chairs. I am not complaining, this is all my choice.
My point about the monthly parking is I spend $2950 for a one bedroom in ARN. There are several hundred available parking spaces in my building, empty, not being used, but I cant park there unless i shell out another $290 a month for parking which seems silly to me.
Thats all I have to say.
good, its about time there are parking regs around here, now maybe DOS will send a street cleaner through and clean up the garbage on the streets. We are the only community in the city that NEVER sees a street cleaner. This is disgraceful, especially when you consider how much construction dirt and debris you see on the street.
Street parking too, for those who live on the side streets off Vernon. On a couple of the streets where the city tries to implement stricter parking time and day regulations, which will hurt those living there, the residents take the signs down as fast as they can put them up. Bravo to them !!! It's another case of government bureaucracy trying to screw the little guys, again.
