1) We (us the readers of Queenswest) DO know what's going to happen to the west: views WILL be blocked by the middle income/market rate development.

2) The 7 train is closer to the Powerhouse than most of the other developments in the area. including the rentals.

thx, what i liked most about the powerhouse, was its proximity to the water taxi, great for wall st, now i hear it shuts down ever winter and possibly indefinitely? hope that is not true, i had ridden it a bunch this summer, really like it, nice to grab a beer or take off for the weekend form the wtb parking lot.  i thought the mgt of the water taxi was commited to making it work with new boats and new stops along the east river, hope that continues.

Nothing personal, if they have the parking issue nailed down, I will have to make my way to the sales office with my wife.

Do you know when they are expecting the apartments to close.

The apt will come with one touch screen panel which will allow you to tell the gaurage when you need your car, order food from local restaurants, set thermostats and check weather.  However, there are many options that can be added at additional cost such as extra control panels, remote power shades, total lighting control package and av package.  It is essentially a smart home system.

This is the company that's doing the smart home system: http://www.conciergedirect.com/

Also, the developer will build a garage on the empty lot directly east of the building.  They will build the garage after the residential building finishes construction, so it will open a few months after the residential building.

I bought here, but the sales really have been very slow. You can keep track of the sales at streeteasy.com. I don't understand as I have looked at other buildings in the area and feel that this building is really offering an upscale product compared to the rest. It's real wenge wood compared to compressed wood for example. The appliances are all Viking....

They have changed the sales team..still Prudential, but all different people. Does anyone else out there have any info? I'm currently living in Manhattan, so I don't make it out there much for now, but does anyone have any idea how the construction is going? On-time?

Are  you sure all the appliances are Viking? Looked at the Powerhouse towards the end of last year and was told the stove/oven was being swapped out for a different (lower) brand as the building couldn't handle all the higher-powered appliance. Anyone else hear about this?

I have heard that all sales after Dec 07 were getting a lower grade appliance because of the reason that you stated, but I am not sure if it's true. I have not been to the sales office since and do not know what they are offering now. However, the reason sounds a bit strange...the building cannot handle all the power? There are many buildings that offer Viking ranges....

Does anyone else have any further info?
