Adirondack furniture (aka sohmer piano factory) just got landmark status, so the facade will stay as is when it's developed. It's the brick building w/ a clock tower just past Socrates on the east side of vernon.

Not much more info... but I've included the link to the story in the Queens Chronicle earlier this month.
Personally, I am glad ot see it rennovated. Even happier to see that they are looking to restore some of the original detail.
The building is in rough shape (from the outside anyway, can't say I've ever been inside).

Does anyone know anything about the timeline? We live around the corner and it doesn't appear that they've started.

What is happening with Hallets Cove II these days??  Have they started it, or is Hallets Cove I still the only thing around vernon and 31st?  If anyone has any information on the area please let me know, thanks!

Hallets Cove I condos are occupied, and Hallets COve II condos are set to start pre sales in summer of 2009.  The renovated piano lofts have already begun to sell.  There is also a new restaurant that opened up right on 31st ave.  Seems like the area is slowly starting to develop around there.
