I finally got a chance to load the pictures I took during the tour in mid July. From what I saw, I don't think the place will be ready for occupancy till early October (just my gut feel). Appliances were not installed in most of the units (mine included) - although there is one unit on the fourth floor that looks nearly completed. The stairways and hallways look quite raw. Having said all this - I'm rather excited about moving in.
Thanks for the photos. Do you know if there's an exhaust over the stove? I've heard conflicting information about this. One source says the air is recycled; another source says that building code requires an exhaust to the outside of the building.
That's a very good question. Considering that my unit didn't have any appliances installed as of yet - I will do some research on this. It stinks that the developer doesn't give any more details beyond the offering plan.
It will probably be a ventless hood. The code does not require an exhaust for the kitchen area. The only place that must have an exhaust is a windowless bathroom. Exhausts are pretty expensive and take up square footage. This is why many new buildings in NYC us dryers that do not require exhausts and hoods that recycle the air. Hope this helps.
