Queens Plaza condo owners
Up to Neighborhood Discussion
Hey All,
1st post. wanted to thank Jake for the great board. I just wanted to reach out to all the Queens Plaza condominium owners, as I am one.
Have you guys heard anything about closing? I've been in touch with the Developers Group and they have no assurances but they say that the building will most likely be finished and ready for closing by early August.
Also, on another note, I have read the other Queens Plaza thread and am inclined to disagree. The area is moving along and I feel that it will be "gentrified" rather quickly. We have a bank, deli, restaurant and the train station all within a block of the complex, and as more areas enter the area I'm sure the area will improve even further. It was only a couple of years ago where I would take the 7 train only to get held up because there was a police investigation at Hunters Point. Whatever the area was a couple of years ago is now changed and will continue to change. And to those who have lived in the area for a long time, please do not take my response as disrespect; the investigations may have been isolated incidents.
As for bang for the buck, Queens Plaza seems to be the only condominium so far I have seen under $600/sq ft. If someone knows differently, please let me know. It is 1 of 3 with parking spaces (Badge Building being one of the others, Gantry if you pick up a 2+ bedroom), and it actually does have a laundry room, which is good for those who don't get a 2 bedroom with washer/dryer hookups. Again, if any of the information I have said is incorrect, please let me know.
I know it's not as popular as the Gantry or Arris Lofts, but I wanted to shed some positive light on the building as the only other thread bashes the area.
So all of you that will be living in Queens Plaza, holler!
