I'm interested in possibly purchasing at the Arris Lofts, but am concerned about the neighborhood. Can anyone provide some info about the neighborhood around Court Square and also between there and the waterfront? I know very little about LIC and The Arris Lofts sound amazing, but not if I'm going to get mugged or solicited by prostitutes every night. Thanks in advance! -David

Is their marketing office open already?

That area is mostly commercial use (office. However, it is only a few blocks away from the historic residential block of LIC and other residential clusters. This area is slated to have other condos and new office towers. The immediate area of the building seems to be safe and a good place to invest if you get in at the right price.

I live two blocks away from the Arris Lofts location. You are pretty safe all around LIC. Court Square is generally very heavily patroled due to presents of Citigroup Building.

I have been living here for two years and me and my wife feel completely safe and we take walks to the waterfront almost every night. I haven't heard about anyone being mugged around here. The biggest thing was my car being keyed and sidemirror stolen, but that happens anywhere in NYC.

As far as prostitutes - I haven't seen one in LIC since later 2000, you probably have better chances by Lincoln Tunnel

Arris Lofts is looking to be a great building. We are thinking about purchasing too.
