JROJAS MAKES CURBED!!!
It's a huge deal for the neighborhood, and posters on the QueensWest message boards are predictably hyped up. Notes one, "I guess the guy that is converting the shady motel to a boutique hotel is not as crazy after all."
Too funny.

Depending on your perspective, it's either heartening or dispriting that this project is going with pie-in-the-sky, QWDC-style projections. To wit:
"Silvercup hopes to have the project built by 2009, but it has to go up against a seven-month public review process first."
In the first place, you can bet the farm that that "public review process" ain't gonna take no seven months. In the second place, they could break ground on that project tomorrow and that project STILL couldn't be built by 2009.

too much excitement for me to handle all at once! combine that silvercup rendering with the rockrose arqutectonica renderings and the northern portion of queenswest is going to strongly resemble south beach. once the development of the entire waterfront (including parks, roads and buildings) from newtown creek to qb bridge is complete we are going to be an incredible site to view from manhattan. i can't wait to see the final product!
