Cityview Cleaners - Closing

Not blaming just the high rises - but I thought it would be a good place to start!!!

I know there were many variables in the decision - and if both buildings supported her completely the outcome would have been different.

We may have lost a family business but Liz will still be around - we may actually see her more!

Liz is closing due to lack of business. I stopped in the store on Thursday and she stated that she could not make it. I asked if she could sell the business and she stated that if she can't make and she doesn't pay rent,How could someone else who would have that expense tacked on make it. Liz is a wonderful person. I have known her my entire life. A nicer, kinder person you couldn't find. I wish her luck in whatever she does.

Well, it just doesn't make sense that a business survived in a place where there was very little residential business, now with another 1,200+ people and another 1,500 on the way, would close to lack of business after 20 years.

Either way, they will be missed.

From what Liz has said, she has been approached by many, many people who want to put all sorts of businesses in that location. No decisions have been made.

the story is: she opened right before the highrises were to break ground and, when the building was postponed, she held on. citylights opened and she did incredible business the first few months. when that cleaners opened she lost almost all the business. noone's 'blaming' the highrise - it is what it is. she's closing because there isn't enough business in the hood.
