The best way is the 7 train that starts at Times Square and goes to 5th Ave than Grand Central Station and ends up at Vernon Blvd / Jackson Ave stop (first stop in Queens), just two blocks from Citylights, Avalon Riverview and all of Queens West. It is a four and a half minute ride from Grand Central. Best to stay towards the back of the 7 Train and get out at that exit. Once you come up the stairs either take a left to down to the Avalon Riverview or walk up to 48th Ave and take a left there to go down to the Citylights building.

If you are driving you can come through the mid-town tunnel or over the 59th street bridge. If you come across the 59th St Bridge, take the upper level, follow the signs down to 21st Street. At the bottom of the ramp (at the light) take a left onto 21st Street. Follow that down through 8 stop lights till Jackson Ave where you should veer right onto Jackson. Follow Jackson down till 48th ave (two blocks) and take a right on 48th Ave. Go through two sets of lights and you will surely see Citylights and the Avalon Riverview at that point. From the midtown tunnel stay as far right as you can when you get to the tolls as you are going to be taking the exit that is about 20 feet after the tolls. After that right exit turn right again and go through the two lights. Take a right on 5th St. and follow it down to 48th. Take a left on 48th and you are there.

If you are coming over the Whitestone Bridge take that to 278 West towards the Triborough Bridge. About 5 miles down 278 road you should turn onto the Brooklyn / Queens Expressway (BQE) South towards the Long Island Expressway. You are on the BQE for about 1 mile and then take the exit onto the Long Island Expressway (LIE) towards the Midtown Tunnel. Take the LIE to the last exit before the toll, Exit 15 Van Dam St. Go straight through the lights and the follow the road as it does an S curve under the LIE. After the S curve keep following it straight as it goes over the train tracks, past the LIE tolls on your right and straight through the lights. After the lights as it looks like you are going to run into this big windowless building take a right on 5th St. At this point you should see Citylights (the large building on your left) or the Avalon Riverview. Follow 5th down to 48th Ave (about 4 blocks) and take a left on 48th.
