So they replaced many of the trees this week in the main plaza of Gantry park - any idea what the issue was?  Had the old trees overgrown the planters?

Also, anyone know what the general schedule and plan is for the soccer field and adjacent area?  I see the low building has come down just east of the soccer field.

ASAIK, the old trees had died.

And I believe the area east of the soccer field is an independent project.  Something about a building for a CUNY graduate center.

The building on 5th Street east of the soccer field is a project by the O'Connor Group.  Last I heard it was supposed to be condos, although it's possible it was switched to some type of CUNY housing?  Does not seem the best use for what is excellent property (albeit with limited views).  Still close to all the amenities and lot's of light with the field/park across the street.
