Just wondering whats up with the group? No news on the meeting last night. The park seems to have less security this winter? Have there been any changes?
I have tried to convince them to publish news, meetings etc, here and it does not seem to work. I am not sure why.

We are a group of community people whose primary interest is the hands-on care of the areas greenery. In any such group, it takes individuals with particular interests and time to accomplish the many tasks that can be associated with doing everything that 'needs' to be done.
We are anxious to have new members who would be interested in gathering information regarding the Park and related environmental issues of interest to our community, and disseminating it to this site, as well as the many other appropriate posting venues. With our current level of volunteer participation, we are pleased to be able to send our meeting notices, group events, and community announcements to our mailing list. Anyone may join our mailing list by sending an e-mail to GantryParkFriend@aol.com.
We are always in need of new members with all varieties of interests and skills, and would encourage anyone interested to attend our monthly meetings, held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00PM, in the 3rd floor activity room of the Citylights building at 4-74 48 Avenue, LIC, NY 11109.
We are very appreciative that such care has been given to this particular website (QueensWest.com), as it certainly facilitates bringing us together as a real community with shared concerns. Thank you.

Some suggestions:
1) Post your upcoming meetings, days, get togethers, here on this board
2) Post meeting notes, notices, alerts or things you find here on this board
3) Use the calendar feature of this site to post meetings, events etc (link on how to do this below).
4) Lets put any new mission statements or objectives you have on the site.
5) Lets put up your registration form (with instructions) for people to join FOGP.
6) Lets figure out a way you can have people join the FOGP through PayPal (online payment service). It is free... so...
