Potential OHP/HV Buyers/In-contract
Up to Hunters Point Condos
Hello all....
I'm a potential buy at One Hunter's Point. I've been looking in the area for some time now, but finally in a position to buy. I've been looking in to Casa Vizcaya and even put in a bid for one of their units. I do like their setup and finishes, but something just isn't sitting right with me. They do seem to be a bit over priced and the not so sure I like their agent. Instincts just tell me not to trust him. Then there's the whole dispute thing with the neighbors.
Anyway... I'm now looking into One Hunter's Point. The Maintenance is a little higher here, but the units seem to be priced right. I've been trolling the forum here and wondering if there are any negatives or any complaints that need to be addressed.
From what I've been reading... The prices are firm... Is this so?
I'm just trying to decide where to go. Should I stick with Vizcaya, wait for something else to come along or go with the attractive OHP? I know I love the area and can't wait to be part of the community there. It's just a matter of exactly where will I plant roots.
Anyone else have experiences with other developers but unltimatly chose Hunter's Point? Why?
Basicly I'm looking for some insight on "Why should I buy into Hunter's Point Condos?"
I'd perfer to get the scope from you, rather than sales pitch from the real estate agent.
Thank you for your time and energy,
Mitch
Mitch,
I to was considering purchasing at Casa. Some things that made me lean towards Hunters Point is its location. It is proballly one of the closest buildings to the train station and police station and its not across from a steel mill like casa. I heard at casa huge dump trucks drive by all day.

We chose One Hunters Point for the following reasons. We never considered Casa Vizcaya as the building didn't appeal to us.
- Best Priced Apartment By Far In Hunters Point
- We chose One Hunters Point over Hunters View because of OHP Vernon Blvd location and larger amenities
- Views from the upper floor surprisingly very good
- Very low monthlies and tax
- The apt floors are only issue but overall architecture including window wall design is far better that the brick and windows generally offered at other buildings
- The only comp to One Hunters Point was Powerhouse and 5Sl and both are overpriced and Powerhouse we didn't seriously consider due to its prior history
- Good luck and I'm sure you'll get other opinions on this site
Windows!!!
Anyone ask about how the windows are going to be cleaned?
I don't think you can open the upper portion of the windows and I don't think you can really clean them from the little opening on the bottom.
