Part two of the new expansion of forums.

This is a test, if it fails miserably I may go back to the "less is more" theory.

As for Bryan's comment on the other post, I think that if the buildings go up as planned, they would be in line of the views of downtown from OHP.  But the good thing about the LIRR station is that, unlike at Powerhouse, the buildings would be far enough away that we still should be able to see through for some good views.  I would guess that the plans would be downscaled somewhat before anything is built.  I would prefer if the entire area were going to be market rate instead of 40%, and for their to be some condos rather than all rentals, but overall I think development at Hunters Point South will be a benefit to the whole area and will be a positive for home values.

Hi everyone. Glad to join the forum. My fiance and I bought in Hunter's View. We're very excited about the whole thing. I think the HPC project is by and large a great deal. The bilboards by HP, as for as I know, will not be coming down. The one to the west of HP on Vernon will be covered with an 'ivy wall' according to the developers and therefore blocked from the garden and those living in the A and B lines looking west. The bilboard on the LIRR property most likely will stay there. Those living in the A,C, and E lines will be seeing a lot of Ashlee Simpson for the forseeable future. The Hunters Point South project would lead to a greatly increased volume on the 7 train, a line that can't handle any more volume at rush hour. However, that project is a long way off ( ten years perhaps even by their estimates ) and has many chances to fail. I doubt Hunters point South will have any impact on the neighborhood for a while yet.
