Window Screens for EastCoast LIC?

Posted by dohnation at March 23. 2008

Hi Gang,

I'm looking for a vendor that can supply screens for the Rockrose building windows. I've seen a bunch of threads on window screens, but they all seem to be for Citylights residents.  Does anyone know if there are any good options for window screens at EastCoast LIC?  Spring is coming and I'd like to leave the windows open.  Unfortunately, last summer I was the local "all-you-can-eat buffet" for the local mosquito population during the summer and early fall.  I dont see how a screen could attach to the window frame (no track really) so I'm not even sure it's an option.  All feedback is greatly appreciated...

Thanks, Doh.

I would look at all those Citylights, threads. Good information.

Hi Jake,

I did and there are a couple of vendors I can call.  I just wasn't sure if I was the first to attempt screens at EastCoast.  Into the great unknown!

Wee!!!!

Let us know if you're successful. I'm definitely interested in getting screens put up as well.

Hi All,

After a few initial fitting attempts, my screens are in!  They are very solid, fit perfectly and look great.  Corkhill Manufacturing (718) 528-7413 came by for an initial measurement ($75) and my screens were delivered and installed within two weeks.  Go for the bronze frames and fiberglass mesh (mine measured 65 3/8 X 32 3/4, but get them to come over for a measurement if you're not sure) to keep those million-dollar views intact - very low profile.  The screens ran $95 each + tax.  I'll let everyone know how they continue to stand up to the windy, inclement weather on the East River. I'm so psyched to be able to keep my windows open without fear of being eaten alive (like last year)...

Thanks,

Doh!

Hey I sent you a PM... I think...

I thought the storm was going to be worse than it was as far as wind speed and took the ones I built in. How did yours hold up?
