Dog Piss Smell
Up to EastCoast Discussion
Around the EC1 building dog poop is pretty well taken care of by the crew, if not the owners. But the smell of dog piss is starting to get to me as it gets warmer, and more humid.
Best part of this is when I was down on the ground removing the cover and lock from my bike out front, some dude walked up behind me and had his dog pissing on the sidewalk right next to where I was. I sat there watching the pee trickling down off the sidewalk and into the street, anxiously waiting for the stinky highlighter yellow liquid to hit my shoe so I could promptly wipe the wetness on the owner. Unfortunately I gagged and had to move away before it hit, and rather just said something to the owner who seemed oblivious that I was even there... And I'm not a small person by any stretch of the imagination.
If you're going to let your dog do its business, please do it somewhere people avoid... Avalon's unsanitary and poorly located garbage heap comes to mind.

I know, the smell of urine is awful. Not exactly the first thing I want to smell when I walk outside. I think the building people are trying to do something about it; I've seen them outside spraying the sidewalk. It should be done daily.
People can be pretty inconsiderate when it comes to their dogs. I don't know how many times I've had to either step off the sidewalk or hurdle a leash because the owner thinks its a good idea to have the leash stretched across the entire width of the sidewalk. I've also seen several owners let their dogs piss right in front of the rotating door, literally right as they stepped out.
Don't get me started on Avalon's garbage heap...

It seems as though Avalon Management could care less about the neighborhood. Why is Riverview North the only buiding without waste cans? It surely would help with the litter and would help the dog walkers who do clean up after their pets.
So here's something that just got me pretty heated and I'm not quite sure what to do about it yet...
It's bad enough the front of the building smells like piss, and makes you gag on windy, hot, and also humid days... But this just seriously ticked me off.
I am motorcycle rider, and do a lot of work on my bike (especially since I crashed it recently... bah) however, because of this I am always on my hands and knees working on the bike, keeping it clean from the dust in the area, and just regular well deserved maintenance.
When coming home the other night I was disgusted to see that someone had let their dog pee on one of the bikes front tires marking their territory (picture hopefully attached/linked to below).
Now, today, after coming home from work I noticed my bike had also been tagged and probably by the same dog/owner combination. I also want to add that I keep my bike covered, and not only was the cover pissed on, but the bike itself as well.
I don't know what else to say because I am so damn disgusted by the lack of common courtesy, common sense, and level of cleanliness I would imagine that not just persons who pay thousands of dollars to live in a luxury building, but anyone with half a f'ing mind would hope to live like in any community.
Would those people appreciate me pissing on their car? Pissing on their apartment door? Pissing on their dog?
I do hope I find the dog owner(s) who are doing this one day.
Thank you to those at centerblvd.com for hosting my pictures.
