We ate at Tournelsol tonight located on Vernon between 50th and 51st on the west side of the street. It was great!!! No opening night jitters. Every dish was marvelous. The 7 of us had carrot soup, scallops, and muscles as appetizers, roast chicken, duck breast, monkfish and cod for main courses, and they offered us fruit salad, a creme brulee and a tiramisu for dessert. Every dish was unbelieveable. The service was great. And the cost was very reasonable, with wine, dinner and tip it was $35 a head.

We are going back soon. To see their menu go to http://tornesolny.com/

Wow.. sounds great. Can't wait to check it out.

The URL is http://www.tournesolny.com/ and I have added it to the links section under Neighborhood (and to my up and coming directory).

Ah man! I was looking for a place to eat last night but had no idea Tournesol just opened. I thought it would take a few months like Brasil (did they run out of money to finish that place?), lol. I had to settle for Manetta's, where bread was stale, appetizers and desserts looked unappetizing, but pasta wasn't too bad. I would go back.

$35 seems a good price for a fine meal with wine. I can't wait to try the place out. Man, the food you described is making me hungry NOW - do they serve lunch?

Menu looks good - particularly ones written only in french Plats du Jeur. Game of the Day on Saturday sounds interesting. I hope it's Pheasant, and not anything locals catch in this area.

The owner, Pascal, who lives in our building told us that they will be opening for lunch next week and that the daily specials also start next week.

It was really great. A very, very welcome addition to the neighborhood!
