Sublet restrictions

How disappointing that the board at the annual meeting once again tested the waters regarding subletting. Several board members lost their re-election bids because of their attempt to - dare I say "railroad" this issue past us last time.

There are many reasons why allowing subletting is an advantage to us, not the least of which is that having the "condo by-laws" which we now have allowing subletting and sale of our apartments without board approval INCREASES THE RE-SALE VALUE OF OUR APARTMENTS! This is always the case in NYC. Why? Because people want flexibility.

Have we had security problems with subtenants? Are we anywhere near that 40% level of sublets? Gimme a break.

The board can once again expect serious organized opposition to any proposed changes of the subletting policy and similar results for those board candidates who support them.

I agree completely. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

The reason why banks are hesitant to loan money to people is because of the high mortgage that this building has and that we don't own the land that the building sits on. The board members just want to have more control. I thought that the president of the board didn't pay much attention or respect to the people who were making comments...just yesing everyone.

I agree 100% Do not let them try to take control.
