DUMBO is offering one or two years of free rent. What they get in return is a tenant at the end and a better neighborhood and rental environment.

Oh... free "retail" and "commercial"...

Sounds interesting.. but it seems like our space is such a small factor on our budget that we can wait for paying clients.

But its been over three years already and still no hope of renting our nice corner space. Even if we had rented it a 1000/month, that is 12K that could have gone back into CL to redecorate or buy stuff(like better gym equipment). Plus, maybe it could have been some store that residents of CL would have found convinient (like a book store, or video rental, or something). But we hold out for fair market value when there is no demand.

Or, even a short term lease (5 years with one year free), would be generating extra income for us, even though we think we may not need any now.

I donno, maybe the Board is doing their best, but I just see waste of a nice space.

Hey, I agree. I would like to see it turned into storage space. I pay $55 at Moishes for a 2x3 closet. I would gladly pay the same or more to have it in the building. That times 100 people is some serious cash. Even if they gave it up in two years it would still be an easy fix and income.
