Thank you
Up to Citylights Discussion
I just finished reading the minutes of the last Board meeting, and I was delighted to note that we owe $60,000 extra to the company doing our facade registration (DNA). This is due to the fact that some residents chose to ignore clearly-posted signs and continue to use their terraces, in spite of the fact that they were asked to refrain from doing so. At one point there was a 12-day stoppage of all work, mandated by the City, during which time the contractor chose to continue paying their workers. (To the best of my recollection, the complaint which resulted in a stop-work order was also initiated by a building resident.) According to the minutes, this also allowed DNA to resume work quickly after the stoppage. I'm not going to get into a big debate about your "right to use your property" because quite simply that is nonsense. There is a greater need here for the entire building to be safe and properly maintained, which is important to ALL of us. This work is required by law to be done every 10 years, and is not an undue burden on anyone. So, thanks again, for costing all of us our pro-rated share of 60k, which I'm sure the coop can easily afford, as economic conditions are so favorable right now. Idiots.
