Digital TV - do we have a building antenna on the roof, if yes - what type ?
I am perfectly happy with the on the air TV channels, and don't plan to switch to any paid service. Still, some channels that I could pick up just fine with my analog TV, don't show through my DTV converter. The signal is too weak.
Does anyone know what type of antenna we have on the roof ? I'm no specialist, but I don't see why it wouldn't be able to pick all the channels. For example, I can not get PBS in digital. The signal is too weak. I don't care that much about the other ones, but I miss that one.
DTV quality is good enough for me to never switch to any paid alternative - I just don't see the need. But it would be a pitty not to use 100% of what DTV gives us, especially with a roof that high.
I believe I'm not the only one in this situation - is there anything to be done for the signal to be what it should be ? Any antenna updates planned ?
Thanks

You should do a rescan anyway on Friday - 7,11 and 13 will be back in their original spots in digital.

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely try it.
When I see the full spectrum of digital channels, and the few that I can actually lock on (and my DTV converter is supposed to be a good one), I have the feeling that with a supposedly large antenna, on a supposedly high roof such as ours, receiving even the difficult ones shouldn't be a problem. I don't want to go for an internal antenna inside the appartment if the roof one is supposed to be way better. Channels like ion, qubo and such are almost impossible to lock too.

I did not know that we can connect to the building antenna. I, too, am not using cable. Digital TV has better quality (uncompressed signal) via antenna, plus, of course, it is free. But I am just using an indoor antenna, which is doing just fine as I have line of sight of Empire State Building, which presumably is a source of many TV signal (I'm not sure about this).
But my question really is how can I connect to the building antenna? The antenna connectors in my apartment connect to Time Warner.

I was on it years ago - the brief period of time between Cellularvision going out of business and Time Warner hooking the building up - and it took someone 5 minutes to do it back then.
