thdd, Mark Motley is his immediate supervisor. What is it with this Patrick guy? Personally, I've never had a problem with him re: routine stuff via e-mail (loading dock, etc.), I've found him pretty quick to respond. But he has gotten under the skin of more shareholders than all our previous managing agents combined. Is he supercilious, snide, on an interpersonal level? The irony is we're paying almost double for Rose Associates as compared to our previous managing agent and we're incurring an additional salary expense becaused Ed approved hiring a secretary for him. Do many shareholders feel service has gotten twice as good since Rose came on board? If not, what's the deal? I guess only Ed knows for sure...

By the way, I think our crew in the building do do a terrific job, but I felt that way when they were overseen by Cooper Square as well. My point was it's not now unbelievably super terriffic, certainly not twice as terriffic, so how can our directors justify the additional costs? Apparently they couldn't be bothered to read the Rose contract before they signed it, and we have two lawyers on the board. Weak.

Has anyone met Mark Motley in person at the meeting last night? And has Patrick
McGovern called you to make nice today?

Despite Rose’s effort to change our mind about them, I think we should still
push the board members to re-bid for management companies. There are many qualified management companies
out there and at this economic trial time, they are hungry and therefore more
competitive than ever.

I am interested to find out if they had EVER bid amongst
different property management companies to begin with. How buildings this size can can just hire a
management company without price and services comparison?

Any suggestions as to how we can push our newly elected board members to move forward with this?

“Gotten under the skin” is an huge understatement. Every single one of my friends in the building wants him gone. He behaves as if he’s managing us (and finds us annoying). He’s consistently condescending, disdainful, and patronizing. And yes, my psychiatric training inclines me to believe that this is due to his serious interpersonal problems but he has no business taking them out on us, and they are severely impacting his ability to behave professionally.

I’ve been here for years and have gotten along with all the managers. I didn’t like our last onsite manager, but he always treated me with respect. And despite disagreeing strongly with me about a stand I took, when I proved to be right, he acquiesced graciously.

Patrick either has to go to therapy or go.

I agree Rose Associates does absolutely nothing but collect a paycheck from us. We need to get them removed.
