Citylights carries flood insurance - see web site.

Recently my mortgage was sold to Countrywide and they demanded flood insurane for the partment, even though I am hundreds of feet above the possible flood level.  This is sheer nonsense!!!  Even my Allstate agent was laughing.  Unfortunately, Countrywide obtained their own insurance for about $88 / yr. and backcharged me. Did anyone have a similiar experience?

As an update to my last post and hoplefully some help to ziggy, i have resolved my issue with the insurance.  It took a few phone calls and one person who was actually willing to listen to me from my mortgage company(citibank). He looked thru my old file when i origionally applied for the mortgage and found the actual flood insurance policy and then just told me that i needed to give him the updated information for him to put into my file.  He then went as far as to have REFUNDED to me every penny i paid for the policy they obtained on their own for me.  Like many people have said the policy is on the citylightsresidents website and easy to download and print out.  I hope this helped.
