Putting new floors

Posted by Long at September 29. 2004
Hi All:
Just recently moved into CL. My apartment's floors are in horrible condition. I am thinking about putting in new floors.

Anyone has done it? Did you put in hardwood floors or Laminate floors?

Thanks in advance

I have seen it done and it looks nice. I have also seen people re-sand just a bit off the top of the parkay wood tiles and re-finish them which also looks good.

Hardwood vs laminate is just about price. For hardwood, they rip it all up and for laminate they can lay it down on top of the existing floor.

Jake
thanks for the info. I like hardwood, but I am a bit turned off by the price of the installation.
I have seen these laminate floors with a very thin layer of actual hardwood on the top insead of the plastic. They are the best of both worlds.
The only thing I don't like about the laminate floors is that they look dull. ( becuase you can't really polish them to a shine). I will post the info once I find them again.
