I agree. If the roof lights on Citylights are bothersome then they too should be off by midnight. This is all part of being a considerate neighbor.

And I still hope that the Avalon management will attempt to further reduce the intensity of the lights. Even at a reduced power they will be able to be seen from miles around.

Of course, the best solution is to have reasonable hours for the lights to be on and off. But for those who wish to go to bed early, etc., there are light blocking shades available by catalogue and elsewhere. They can fit your window so exactly that your room turns into a dark cave.

This issue has already been addressed at one of the shareholders meeting last year. The board asked for a showing of hands- among those present- who preferred having the lights on all night. A majority of the group raised their hands. To all shareholders- please make an effort to attend these meetings. They're only twice a year, and quite informative. Also, your opinion will be heard.

At the time of that "vote" at the shareholders meeting, there was no discussion about the lights at CL being disturbing to neighbors at Avalon. There weren't too many Avalon tenants at that time.

Maybe it's time to revisit the issue.
